KENYA: Wild olive teaspoon with spiral handle
The artisans of Kamba in Kenya hand-carve this beautiful sugar spoon from wild olive wood, a slow-growing tree with a wonderfully grained wood. The handle is adorned with bleached cow bone, hand-carved to resemble the antlers of savannah antelopes such as topi, gazelle, and waterbuck.
To care for this all-natural serving utensil, wash the spoon by hand in warm water, dry and rub lightly with oil.
